Registration and travel costs

Registration

The lectures of the Dutch Master's Programme in Mathematics are open to all students who are registered in a master's program in mathematics at one of the Dutch universities. There is no additional registration fee and students do not have to register at the universities where the courses will be given. You can find the Registration Form in the menu at the top of this page. See also the section Roll call in HIFI.

PhD students
Please fill out the form without checking the box "in case you don't have a studentID". Fill out the field studentID with PhD followed by your BSN. You will automatically be added to the registration database.

Travel costs

You can find the Reimbursement Form in the menu at the top of this page. Reimbursement will take place 4 times a year: in December, February, June and August.

We urge students to apply for a "week OV-studentenkaart", because our Programme has limited means for reimbursing travel expenses. Only students who have a 'weekend OV-studentenjaarkaart' or NS reduction card ('Voordeelurenkaart') and students without any reduction card can claim their travel expenses. The following rules apply to the reimbursement of travel expenses:

  • only costs for travelling from the city of the home university of the student to the venue of a course will be reimbursed (train ticket and costs for bus/metro/tram in the city where the course will take place)
  • reimbursement will be calculated on a base of travelling by public transportation, second class and use of the registered OV
  • there is no reimbursement for travel expenses for courses that take place in the city of the home university
  • students have to submit their train tickets and/or list of transactions with OV (please note that you need a registered OV)
  • in case the price of a NSreduction card is less than the difference of normally priced train tickets and reduced train tickets used to attend mastermath courses, the student can apply for reimbursement of the NS-reduction card.
  • students must sign an attendence list at the beginning of each meeting.
  • PhD students cannot apply for reimbursement for travel expenses.
